This intensive course pays special attention to forms of expression that aid fluency and accuracy in conversation, such as forming hypotheses or reviewing opinions, using the whole range of expressing certainty / uncertainty, conviction / doubt and so on. Writing skills such as producing summaries, personal reports or articles will be practiced and reading comprehension will concentrate on texts of varying length and difficulty. Listening comprehension will cover authentic recordings of radio and television broadcasts, film clips, commercials and so on, with the aim of making participants familiar with the whole range of regional variations and linguistic registers.
